Buderim Gala

The Buderim Gala, to be held on Saturday 3 August 2024, will celebrate the largest infrastructure project at Buderim Mountain State School since 1875. The new school hall is an $8.7 million project set to change the face of the historic school site and the renowned Buderim community. Join in to help make memories and celebrate an historical moment in time. It's the event of the century, unmatched in size and significance. Be a part of something special.

The funding for the hall was provided by Education Queensland. However, this funding did not cover additional costs such as a kitchen, equipment, air conditioning, chairs etc which the school community felt were crucial for a school hall and community function centre.
Subsequently, the school and P&C have together invested approximately $1.5 million over and above the initial capital cost to enhance this new hall, transforming it into a versatile and attractive space equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Their investment has funded a commercial kitchen, advanced AV equipment, impeccable acoustics, modern air conditioning, sporting nets and equipment, and a fully equipped stage with curtains. It has been their vision to create something special that not only serves our school community and future generations, but also offers a valuable space for use by the wider Buderim community.

The P&C secured a Treasury loan exceeding $500,000 to ensure that the hall could be completed with the required facilities/equipment, and they now face the task of repaying this loan. The GALA offers a fantastic opportunity for a valuable partnership; the P&C are looking for support from the local community to sponsor the event.
